Our enriched CAPS curriculum is an integrated, theme-based learning program. Our teachers adapt the curriculum accordingly to meet the needs of the children in their care, taking the whole child into consideration. We cover literacy, numeracy and life skills while encouraging the social, emotional, and physical development of each child, focusing on critical thinking, cognition and creative skills using a combination of academic and play-based experiences.
Building confidence in each child through targeting specific areas for development, are the roots that run deep through our school. We believe that a child will succeed if they believe they can.
Our small, intimate classes allow for individual developmental pace, while our peaceful environment lends itself to a quiet and calm learning space.
Co-curricular activities
The learning experience we offer is strengthened and reinforced by the addition of our MuralworX co-curricular program consisting of 5 workshops per week:
Dramatic Arts/ Music & movement – Inspiring creative thinking, muscle development, rhythm and music appreciation.
Exploring Emotions – Developing emotionally intelligent, mindful, and confident children.
Simply Sensory – Encouraging fine motor skills development, as well as exposure to sensory experiences.
STEAM – Stimulating critical thinking through play-based workshops. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics.
Little Linguists – Exposing our little ones to three languages at a basic level, English, Afrikaans and Zulu.
These workshops are delivered by our amazing teachers whom your little one already knows and loves. The program also assists our teachers to identify areas for development to be worked on individually.
Owl Academy
Our formal Grade R class, ‘Owl Academy’ is a step above the rest. The grade R students follow an enriched CAPS curriculum within a dedicated, loving environment, instilling a love for learning and confidence that ensures a smooth transition to Grade 1. To encourage independence and a sense of responsibility, our Grade R students are required to wear a simple uniform.
